Unbarred - Working or Waiting

When I received my compensation package I saw that my start date would occur on the following Monday of being barred. I figured that was the SOP policy at most firms. Apparently that’s not exactly the case. Several of my unbarred cohorts started last month. How many unbarred people here have already started? Have many unbarred people are having to wait before starting?

With student loans only a month away it would have been nice to have built a cushion.

Yeah you got screwed. Most big firms start people before they are barred.

Apparently so.

I know a few people who don’t start until Nov and one not until Dec. I figured that being barred was a prerequisite at the majority of firms. Obviously not. To top it off, Texas is ridiculously slow in announcing the bar results.
