When to send update post-CB no ties

I am approaching the post-cb 2 weeks mark tomorrow for a regional big law firm (V100). I know for a fact their committee meets tomorrow. In the past, for other firms, i've sent updates (just letter of continued interest) only after the 3rd week as to not look desperate/impatient. However, I know this is towards the end so I'm thinking I should send one tomorrow. Another consideration is that I have really no ties to the area, so I'm sure I would be at the end of the pile, and it may be a good thing to show I actually care.

Above all, i know desperation looks awful, and I dont want it to come off that way. Basically, does 2 weeks post-cb + no ties look that way? I really just want to show commitment to the area and I believe at this point, when people are on hold and the firm is just waiting from first choice candidates, the ones they like who are likely to accept come next. and i want to be at least the person likely to accept.

Question: How do you know when the hiring committee meets? I have been trying to figure that out for one of the firms I interviewed with and haven't been able to find out anything... is it something that is mentioned during interviews?

I also don't think it could hurt to show some interest after 2 weeks. I don't think it would look desperate at all.

OP here. I was told at my cb. Usually it's not said flat out though.
