Small firm would be personal injury work with about 3 other attorneys

I mean, this really depends on what you actually want to do, but objectively big city DA is >>>>>>>>>>>>>> a small personal injury firm.

True. DA is better in just about every way, provided that you wouldn't mind being a DA.

Interesting, sounds like it depends on the firm.

I'm working as a volunteer attorney at a large state Attorney General's office right now but don't know how long I'd have to wait to get hired to a division here (it might be like 6 months). I also have an interview coming up with a small law firm. The founder used to be a high ranking government official, so he has some legit clients.
Does this rationale play out here as well? Would it be better to take some contract work and just wait for the AG's office to hire me as a first year, or should I go do the small firm for a couple of years and then try to get back in once I have more experience. This is of course assuming I get an offer.
