Will firms understand this mistake?

I realize I'm probably outting myself for posting this, but one firm asked if I "was ever the subject of a disciplinary hearing" and I answered no. I mentioned this briefly to a friend today when she asked how the interview went, and she said maybe I should have put yes since I was the subject of an internal cross complaint, even if I was not the subject of the hearing itself. I plan to call the firm tomorrow morning to clarify this fact, but what happened was I filed a complaint against my classmate/ ex for domestic battery (he hit me several times) and he filed a cross complaint which stated he's filing this cross complaint against me because I filed a complaint against him. (The cross complaint was dismissed. I'm not allowed to say what happened to him, but I also took him to court and won)
If I call the firm tomorrow and explain, will they understand?

I cannot imagine any employer looking down on a victim of abuse trying to clear up a verbal mistake.

I am OP.
The mistake was written (a checkbox) but not verbal. I asked for clarification on the spot, and was told to answer yes only if I was the one brought there to potentially be disciplined. I also did not say anything about the abuse because I was told by career service this would make employers extremely uncomfortable

I think you answered accurately, and I wouldn't worry about it further.
