hard to say unless you tell us the firms...but i don't think there's any general principle that a larger firm is more stable. The 100-person midlaw firm could dominate the market for their respective practice groups or something. There's a lot of lateral movement at these large firms so any firm can fall apart if enough partners suddenly leave or something
