Letter of Recommendation from Professor to Firm after CB

I've been waiting to hear back from some firms for about a week, and I have a professor I'm close with who's willing to send me a letter of recommendation to the firms I'm still waiting on. Has anyone had experience with doing so or has advice as to whether it's a good idea or not?

That seems weird

Does your prof have some bros at the firm?

If so tell him to get on the horn w em

If not I would not send an unsolicited letter of rec. Def not

From what I've heard and seen, that type of letter (and primarily if they know someone at the firm) will get you in the door for a CB, but it then becomes about personality/fit, and your professor can't change that. Also, they've already completed your review and it's too late to change anything unless you happen to be on a mythical CB wait list, so just following up (after 2+ weeks) and letting them know they are your #1 choice is the best thing you can do.
