Do firms reimburse in-flight internet for long flights?

Flying cross-country ( ~6 hrs during the day both ways) for a CB and the firm's guidelines didn't specifically address in-flight internet. Is this a common thing to request or should I just pay for it myself? I don't want to seem demanding, but it would be nice to be reimbursed if appropriate.

It's not worth the risk. Just fork out the $10 yourself.

You should definitely request it and if you had a CB at multiple firms, you should split the bill evenly among them.

The firm booked you on a flight that presumably costs mid 3 figures and maybe 1k+... and you're concerned about how they'll view a $10 internet charge? Working through flights is pretty normal dude

Explain the theories under which you think this type of expense would be appropriately billed to a firm?

It probably would be okay. When in doubt, though, I'd avoid nickel-and-diming a firm when you're trying to get hired there.

It's a callback, but I agree. OP should just explain to them that he spent his flight researching the firm.

Several of the firms I interviewed with specifically stated in their paperwork that they would reimburse hotel internet (if the wifi at the hotel wasn't free). At those firms I wouldn't have a problem expensing in-flight internet since it's pretty much the same thing. I don't see this as a huge risk.

I disagree. I think it shows his attention to detail.

Yeah I'll just ask after a decision has been made. Thanks everyone for your input!

No problem! Make sure you expense both ways!
