Hi all,

Interviewing for a Law Clerk position with a BigLaw firm in a major market. Had a screener with a partner that went well and received a callback for an onsite interview. The process has been generally slow (as expected) since I'm not going through OCI.

My interview was scheduled for tomorrow and I received a confirmation from HR a few weeks ago when they first notified me that they were interested to proceed with recruitment process. After getting in touch with HR today to confirm my appointment, they informed me that they would need to delay my interview since my interviewers are currently unavailable.

Does this happen often during law firm recruitment? Does this have any indication that they may have proceeded to hire another candidate prior to my interview? Am I just overthinking the circumstances?

bump, wanted to know if this was reasonable or it's because they may be interested in other candidates.

HR asked me about my availability yesterday to reschedule and I responded within a few minutes but haven't not received confirmation yet. Should I send another email?

Just curious. How did you find out about the law clerk position? I did not know BigLaw firms hired law clerks? Also, is it practice specific? Any details would be much appreciated. Market?

Also good luck with the interview. I am sure you will do great! Sounds like the interviewers (partners or associates) just had stuff come up. It happens all the time and unfortunately the interview tends to get rescheduled. I'd wait for HR to contact you about the new interview date. If you have not received confirmation by Monday afternoon, then I'd follow up.

Found out about the position and applied online. The firm has a specialized practice that requires a specific background (patent). Major market (NY, DC, LA, etc).
