Lateraling Back To New York/3L OCI

So, I was wondering if anyone had any experience starting out at a firm in a secondary market (DC/LA/SF) and then lateraling to New York after a couple of years. Current firm (already accepted for 2LSA) is a v10 with major offices in both the secondary market and NY. Alternatively, is 3L OCI a viable option if I decide I would actually rather work in NY than the secondary market? I love both NY and the secondary and would love to know the viability of switching between cities if that's what I end up wanting to do down the road.
Any and all advice is appreciated!

I have met several people who have done this without issue, especially in similar firms to yours via transferring offices.

Fantastic, thanks a lot. Was this transfer usually prior to starting full-time or after a few years?
