trying to wrap my mind around how insecure you would have to be to think this is DF's schtickMorgan12Oak wrote:Serious question, do you actually think you're funny sometimes? I see posts like this and wonder. I know you are running the whole "I'm big law and you're not" shtick a lot on this site and I see it in all your threads. I like the consistency and appreciate it but think it might be better to run a shtick that like half the site is also not a part of (and doesn't post about as if they are the only big law associate on this site).
tl;dr i think you have some trolling/shtick skills, but you'd be better off trying a different approach
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt I guess calling it a shtick. The alternative is far worse.DELG wrote:trying to wrap my mind around how insecure you would have to be to think this is DF's schtickMorgan12Oak wrote:Serious question, do you actually think you're funny sometimes? It's sort of sadMorgan12Oak wrote:Serious question, do you actually think you're funny sometimes? I see posts like this and wonder. I literally have no idea what you're saying. It just seems shticky to always post about things that every big law associate experiences and create new threads about it all the time. I don't think he is bragging at all.DELG wrote:i guess the disconnect is no one in biglaw thinks it's something to brag about whereas i guess you guys do
disturbing to make observations about "things that every biglaw associate experiences"? do you think jerry seinfeld is mentally ill or something?Morgan12Oak wrote:I literally have no idea what you're saying. But, I'm saying if its not just an incredibly unfunny shtick, then its even more disturbing.
so do work, sonflawschoolkid wrote:Its definitely obnoxious to many readers who don't yet have offers to be posting stuff like this. Even if the job's going to suck, right now we're stressed.
Fair criticism.DELG wrote:so do work, sonflawschoolkid wrote:Its definitely obnoxious to many readers who don't yet have offers to be posting stuff like this. Even if the job's going to suck, right now we're stressed.
DF is on your side

Let me tell you what I told my Uber driver: retake.Desert Fox wrote:If you want to LOL at me, my Uber driver lives in a much fancier apartment buildling than I do.
ok DF, you fatcat, we get it, you can afford your rentDesert Fox wrote:If you want to LOL at me, my Uber driver lives in a much fancier apartment buildling than I do.
Dude, you read enough of the Vale to know that's not true.Desert Fox wrote:3) Damn near everyone who tries for biglaw at a T14 gets it. The ones who don't are the ones who didn't go balls out on the job search.
Some Uber X drivers are loaded & just do it for fun. Seems pretty great, tbhDesert Fox wrote:If you want to LOL at me, my Uber driver lives in a much fancier apartment buildling than I do.
I should say "as a 2L OCI candidate." If you miss that or get no offered it is brutal as fukkkkkkkkckkkk out there.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:Dude, you read enough of the Vale to know that's not true.Desert Fox wrote:3) Damn near everyone who tries for biglaw at a T14 gets it. Still wouldn't be true even at CCN, much less the rest of the T14.Desert Fox wrote:I should say "as a 2L OCI candidate." I can't think of a single person who either: 1) didn't try very hard or 2) wasn't objectively weird as fuck / awful.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:Still wouldn't be true even at CCN, much less the rest of the T14.Desert Fox wrote:I should say "as a 2L OCI candidate." I wouldn't take in area where you can regular cab by hailing. It's great for places where you can't readily hail a cab.Anonymous User wrote:Is Uber a good deal? Over the summer every time we walked over twenty feet a seasoned attorney would reflexively use Uber. Often, it would take longer than walking. Is it better than a yellow cab? It has really blown up, and doesn't seem to exist in small towns so it would need to be a lot better than hailing.
