There's obviously the description in the posting, but I'm seeing if anyone has anything to add.
It's not a very exciting position.

Most, if not all, asset forfeiture AUSAs never actually try a case (although there are rare instances). The majority of their work is, for lack of a better phrase, pushing paper and being anal about deadlines (i.e., publication).

Some folks really enjoy it, and some old-timer AUSAs like the position as it's sort of pseudo-retirement.

Again, it's not a bad position, but just not a position most law students, much less lawyers, think of when they think "AUSA".
