Has anyone heard of a post-CB rejection by phone call/VM?

I certainly haven't. If you have a missed call from the firm it's almost certainly good news.

I did. A senior associate from Perkins Coie called me up, I was so excited thinking I got the offer (for 1L summer), but turned out to be a rejection.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard of a post-CB rejection by phone call/VM?

Yeah I was rejected via phone call for a 2L summer position with a mid-size firm.Anonymous User wrote:a rejection? for 1L or 2L?minnbills wrote:Happened to me too.

Actually, I know of rejections. But they were all for 1L SA's, and the rejection was usually a "If you apply with us for 2L, you can skip the screener!" sort of thing.

Re: Post CB rejection..
I got a post-CB "waitlist" call from an upper V10 for a 2L SA position earlier this month. It was for a super niche position that they're only hiring like 1 or 2 people, though, instead of a regular position with the firm.
When I answered the phone and heard who it was, I got so excited that I was like "O HI THANK YOU FOR CALLING!!! " but after I heard the news, I was like "Okay... that sounds great... I look forward to hearing back from you again... "

Ha. Same. I got a call from a Perkins Coie hiring partner for a 1L position... so excited... but the partner said "I have some bad news" so that tamed my excitement from the get go. She told me I was really close but I didn't make the cut, and that I should apply 2L year.Anonymous User wrote:I did. A friend of mine had that exact conversation -- with a different firm -- 2L year (except for the "apply 2L" part).Anonymous User wrote:Ha. Same. Same here, from Perkins Coie Counsel for 1L gig. If I had known this was a Perkins thing, I would have contained my premature excitement... Spread the word!Anonymous User wrote:Ha. Same.
