Hiring Committee and Offer (or rejection?) Question

So last week a friend had a CB with a firm on Weds. He received an offer the same day because they had the hiring committee meeting that day.

I interviewed at this same firm this week. Tomorrow is of course Weds. Is it safe to assume that this committee will meet tomorrow as well and I can expect to hear tomorrow if I'll be receiving an offer, and if I don't hear tomorrow then I'll probably not be getting one?

On a related note, for CB rejections do they call you to say you're dinged, or will they email/snail mail you a letter? Typically

Maybe they will meet. Maybe not. Maybe they'll ding you. Maybe you'll get an offer. Maybe they'll hold you

It's just a waste of time. You have no way of knowing until it happens.

basically people try to guess things that are outside of their control instead of doing shit within their control to make sure they are in the best spot
