If I want to do transactional work in NY is there be any reason for turning down Cravath, Skadden, Simpson, DPW, or SulCrom for a v15-v35 firm, even if I prefer the latter slightly more? Thanks.

Depends. What are your goals and which firm is it?
I can't justify going with anything besides Cravath for what I personally want, so that's where I'm likely going. Doesn't mean everyone should.

Would like to stay at the firm as long as possible, however I am realistic about attrition rates. I want the best training and exit options possible.

also interested in this, esp since I don't want to in-house to a financial institution. for example, if my goal were to go in-house at a media company, sports league, or tech company, does starting at a firm like Simpson make any better sense than starting at a firm like Proskauer?
