Interest in project finance but NO experience. "More" experience in lit and enjoy it...so I guess that should be more deciding? All NY. Guess it's all about fit? Culture? Exit options in public interest/gov?
Any comments would be GREAT.

Any reason in particular? General culture? Or just highly ranked?

Really good at projects and lit so you're good either way.

Thanks. Didn't know about Cleary's strength in projects. Usually doesn't come up in "top projects firms" conversations (exception: Vault rankings).

It's not Milbank or anything but pretty solid. Band 2 on chambers and I think I remember hearing their Latin American practice is amazing. Since you seem unsure the breadth of their strength is probably the right choice. Simpson is also obviously a great choice. Unless you're 100% on one of the other firms' top practices Simpson and xleary are the only real options

I voted for simpson mainly because I loved my screener interview and was dissapointed to not have a callback. I don't know much about the specific practice group you are interested in but doubt you can go wrong at any of the firms you listed. congrats on a solid set of offers

If you're looking to exit into public interest/federal government then project finance is probably one of the worst areas to go into. Half the goal of government is project finance through taxes. There's not too much need for project finance through private entities when you have the backing of the united states government. There might be a few positions in agriculture or DOE, but outside that, there are very few positions.

how do u know u want to do project finance? probably not a good idea to self-select into a niche practice like that unless you're going to a firm that's all around good so that you can switch to another reputable group if u realize u dont like it.
