I interviewed on Tuesday and have heard nothing. My friend interviewed at the same time, and she heard back. Does this mean a rejection is due soon for me? Please advise.

I think common wisdom is not necessarily. It's only been 2 days... no news can still mean good news.

It doesn't mean anything. The hiring committee's availability and the timeliness of your interviewers completing their paperwork controls.
