Cancel callback over the weekend?

Have a callback scheduled for Monday afternoon, but I got an offer late Friday that I decided I would take over what I have scheduled for Monday. Is it ok for me to email them today to cancel the callback, or is the 24 hour rule applicable only for work days (so 24 hours notice would have required me to cancel on Friday afternoon)? Thanks!

I would probably cancel it unless the travel arrangements will be non-refundable. On the other hand, you may end up liking firm B better. But you have an offer, so do what you want.

Afternoon CB, so no free lunch
The reason why I'm favoring Firm A over B is not really about fit, but the types of firms they are (size, practice areas, etc). I'm more interested in just not wasting everyone's time.

If you truly wouldn't take it over your standing offer then cancel. Congrats on the offer
Oops didn't mean to anon, been posting in oci thread too much

I did the exact same thing you just described. Would rather save time for both of us. No travel arrangements involved, though.

if you are sure that you're going to take the first firms offer I would cancel. It helps out your classmates and doesnt waste both you and the firms time

Yes, I wrote an e-mail. I plan on calling early Monday morning just to make sure.

Does you school have a policy against canceling with less than X days in advance? Not saying you should absolutely follow OCS's rules, but if there are consequences it's something to consider.

Cancel. Let them know you've received an offer if they ask why. No one values you wasting their time. The recruiting season at firms is hectic enough as is.

Because at some schools the consequences are not limited to not being able to participate in OCI. Again, not saying that CSO rules should be followed blindly, but it's worth thinking about.

I really doubt he has anything to worry about.
