Davis Polk offer reception email?

Did anyone get an email from Davis Polk inviting them to a reception for students who received an offer next week? I just got an email inviting me to the reception, but have yet to have a formal offer via phone/email, so am a bit confused.

YUP! Got one earlier today without having received a phone call. I called her and asked her if it was a mistake given I hadn't received a phone call or if I should consider it as an official offer, and after checking my name she said something along the lines of "You'll get a call very soon to make it official." I refuse to celebrate (and cry and go running naked through the streets) until I get an actual phone call. (But yeah, it looks like we have an offer!)

New York CB Thursday (8/14) and email on Friday (8/15).

Thank you!! Thursday AM > Friday email > Sunday late night phone call BUT my friend had Thursday PM > Friday email > 8AM phone call Saturday

Thanks! I know a couple of us with Thursday PM callbacks. Now wondering if Thursday PM happened all at once or is scattered as is sometimes the case with DPW.

Congratulations! You got an offer. This happened to me last year - they make the decision to hire and tell recruiting to invite you to the offer dinner at the same time they tell someone to call you, but the partner in charge of calling you hasn't had time to do it yet. Keep an eye peeled for 212-450-xxxx phone calls.
