TX --> NY/Boston

I am a rising 3L at UT who has just accepted an offer to join one of the Texas big 3 firms in their Houston/Dallas office. I targeted TX exclusively during OCI because my parents are here and I wanted to work somewhere with low COL and save some money for a few years before evaluating other options. Now I'm having second thoughts because I recently fell in love with a girl living in Boston. The nature of her work makes it impossible for her to move. I think we can do long distance for a couple of years (my 3L year plus one year of working in TX) but I'd really like to be with her ASAP -- so any advice regarding 1) transferring to the NY office (how/when do I bring this up?), 2) 3L job hunting in NY/Boston (I know a very long shot), or 1st/2nd yr associate lateraling is appreciated. My firm has a fairly sizable NY office (but no Boston office). Just trying to weigh my options...

The job market in Boston is saturated as fuck. In my opinion, your best bet would be to transfer to your firm's New York office.

Also, if you guys haven't banged yet, then its probably a bit premature to consider moving half way across the country.
