Not sure about this, though hoping you're correct. I recently started with the agency. I got my job through the advance commitment program (now renamed the Chair's Attorney Honor's Program). They still had it going over the past few years. This year they decided to make it "official" again, rebrand the program and re-open it up to people who didn't do an internship or the honors program with the agency. All of that to say, be prepared for this process to take several months. For me it took 3 months from interview to receive the initial offer. Another 2 months for the final offer. To be honest the SEC (and many federal agencies) aren't as concerned about prestige as private employers. That's not to say you won't find people from top schools, but you will find just as many from lower ranked schools. Generally a 3.3 from Duke vs. a 3.3 from BC would be viewed the almost same. They are much more impressed by industry experience and a demonstrated interest in Securities Regulation.
