Any updates on CB's from the BigLaw Branches?
I know so far Paul Hastings and OMM has gone out.

Were these dings? When did you interview and how did they come? (Snail or email?)Anonymous User wrote:Sheppard Mullin, Jones Day, and Irell too.
I sure hope not because that's what I am! LolAnonymous User wrote:What does everyone think about being at an OC firm when you are single? I really love the area and I know there are areas for singles outside of work, but I also know at a lot of these offices most people are married. Would a single guy be out of place in the firm environment?
Callbacks by phone within a day or two of the screener. Interviewed on Monday/Tuesday!Anonymous User wrote:Were these dings? When did you interview and how did they come? (Snail or email?)Anonymous User wrote:Sheppard Mullin, Jones Day, and Irell too.
Honestly, OC is not the best place for a young single. That being said, there are a lot worse places. Is it as great as LA/NYC/SF/Boston/MIamai? No. But it's better then a lot of other dumps.... maybe just a it more leg work.Anonymous User wrote:I sure hope not because that's what I am! Regional T1 top 30. I'd say more, but it might out myself.Anonymous User wrote:What school, if you don't mind?
Very. Not all firms have the 48 hour turnaround.Anonymous User wrote:What is the likelihood of CB's trickling in the week after OCI?
I don't go to law school in CA, but I had CBs at GDC and OMM, and a screener from Latham. My understanding is that most callbacks will start this week. I've heard that OMM is planning on hiring 5 SAs and GDC already has two, and are planning on having ten more. Anyone know how quickly biglaw firms in OC extend offers?Anonymous User wrote:Any updates on CB's from the BigLaw Branches?

Ding from Snell and Wilmer after a mass mail phone screener two weeks agoAnonymous User wrote:Call back from Haynes and Boone today. Anyone heard anything at all from Snell and Wilmer or Rutan and Tucker?
Are hours really less than they would be in LA or SF? I've heard they are about the same. Could you be more specific? I'm sure it will depend on practice group.Anonymous User wrote:Biglaw OC attorney here and I understand the process. Happy to keep an eye on this thread and answer any questions. I think most firms here take a pretty fluid approach; they know the supply is limited so they will try to get good candidates before OCI if possible. But this also means that you shouldn't worry if you don't hear back right away on callback/offer. GDC has biggest class (12-15 is what I've heard), with O'MM and Latham being around 6-10. Then probably the next level down that has like 3-6 SA's (PH, JD, Snell). And then you have Knobbe but they are unique in their IP-ness.
As far as single life goes here, I think you'll have more free time at OC biglaw than LA/NYC/DC/SF to find someone, but obviously smaller city and less younger professionals. That said, I have plenty of single friends here that are doing well in terms of meeting people. Somewhat more leg-work because you can't step out of your office and have 20 bars to choose from in a 3-block radius like those other cities. But you can live at the beach and have a 15-minute commute, so that's a nice trade.
