"strategic" thank you note?

Hi Guys,

Been having OCI over the past couple days, and today I did a screener with a firm that I was really interested. I didn't really connect with the interviewer the same way that I did with other firms, though. For whatever reason, I didn't perform as well as I had hoped, but I think I highlighted important parts of my qualifications, and we also talked about some of our overlapping personal interests. Our career services office says not to do thank you notes for screeners, but if I sent one, and mentioned some of the highlights of our conversation, do you think this could do anything to "help" me? I know alot of OCI is a bit of a crapshoot, subject to countless variables, but I really was interested in this firm and I left the interview slightly disappointed with the exchange.

Consensus is that it will almost certainly be a neutral. They've almost certainly made the CB decision by now.

This is what I figured. Probably best to let it go.
