How to Not Accept Offer on the Spot

I'm an SA and my partner at a biglaw firm asked me to lunch tomorrow (the last day of the summer program) to celebrate "good news" he wants to share. Obviously, this means I am getting an offer. I don't want to accept on the spot (for various reasons), so I am afraid this could be a tricky situation. Any suggestions on how to politely ask for some time, tls?

In a similar situation (happy hour not lunch), I just said I was very excited about the offer, thanked the hiring partner, and asked if it was all right if I discussed it with my family/significant other before making any major life decision. Have prepared an easy segue into a new conversation immediately after so it's not awkward silence.

Although if you didn't split and aren't looking to trade up, it might not be such a bad idea to just accept on the spot.
