Going through OCI right now. Have a DUI in NJ from 2011, it's a traffic offense in NJ so it only comes up on a driver's abstract from the DMV. Curious when going through background check process if they get fingerprints AND ask for you driver's license number to look up your DMV records?

Thanks.

Others might know better, but I don't think any firms conduct background checks. A handful of firms might check your facebook, so if you put up a status about a getting a DUI i would remove that. Otherwise, you are probably fine.

If you are talking government on the other hand, certain employers conduct background checks.

I have never heard of a firm asking for fingerprints or running a criminal background check, let alone getting an applicant's or employee's driving records. Unless you're going to be doing something very special (e.g. government contracts work for which you need a background check), I wouldn't worry about it.

Although, JFC at New Jersey making a DUI just a traffic offense.
