Judicial Intern Interview

So I had an interview with a judge today and it went okay. He asked some very basic questions but looking back, I don't think I was on point on some of my answers. He was very friendly which sort of put my guard down. After the interview, he said he would keep in touch with me.
After reading some judicial intern postings on here, it seems like most people get offers on the spot. Is this true or does it vary? Makes me wonder, you know if I didn't screw up, why couldn't he just give me an offer there and then? What does he have to contemplate? I heard that these interviews, for internships at least, basically mean you got the position because they weed people out from the resume stage. Not sure what to think, should I give it a week?
Thanks.
