How long to wait before 1L SA offer?

Hello all. I split my 1L summer with a big law firm and a judge. At my exit interview with the firm (earlier this month), I was told that I did great work, the firm liked me, and they wanted me back. They didn't, however, make a formal offer at that time. A few weeks went by, and approximately a week ago I emailed the recruiting coordinator to thank them for the summer and express my continued interest. I still haven't heard anything back. Am I freaking out for no reason, or should I be worried about getting an offer? How much would a no offer (in a worst case scenario) realistically affect my OCI job prospects?
Stats are Top 30% at T-14, Law Review, Moot Court.
Thank you.

EDIT: Apparently I don't know what I'm talking about -- consider my comment limited to my own V40 major market firm.
Most law firms don't have 1L interns to begin with, and those that do often don't give out 2L SA offers to their 1L interns. The firm may want you to go through the standard OCI process before they give you a 2L SA offer to avoid the appearance of impropriety. Regardless, a "no-offer" would be absolutely meaningless and will not affect your chances at OCI because nobody expects you to get an "offer" from a 1L summer gig.

Just depends. Did you not ask while you were SAing at the firm? We all got ours in the exit interview on the last day

Have they given offers to the 2Ls yet? I'd imagine they'd do it all at once.

This has not been the experience of myself and most of the 1LSA's I know. Granted my knowledge is limited to NY/CA and the V50. Everyone I know who did 1LSA either got an offer they had to preserve with 2-4 weeks the following summer (~90%) or an auto-callback (wink, nod, job).

This wasn't my experience either. I finished my 1L SA gig a few weeks ago and got a return offer for 2L summer on the last day. I was at a boutique oil and gas firm in Texas, so things might be different in biglaw.

Yeah, person who posted this doesn't know what they're talking about. My 1L SA gave me an offer to come back next summer on the last day.

Yet another TLS poster with little to no actual knowledge about anything blabbing on; my 1L SA also gave me an offer to come back next summer.
OP, it could be that they're waiting for the OK from the other offices of the firm (if it has more than one offices). Sometimes, firm policy is to wait until all the offices are ready to make offers/dings before officially giving them.

How do you go about suggesting summering at another firm but spending the last 3-4 wks of the summer at the 1L firm? This seems like a common practice but I'm not sure how it's best facilitated, if not by the firm itself

The firms definitely aren't going to spend their time negotiating your time share. You need to make the decision yourself within the guidelines they provide.
Is the situation that you have an offer and need to come back to preserve, or you won't have an offer and need to come back to be eligible for one? If the first situation, just do OCI and tell the firm you choose that you need X weeks at the end of the summer to preserve your other offer. If the second, my instinct is to do the same thing, but idk.

Okay, okay. Guess I'm wrong to extrapolate my V40 major market firm's recruiting system to other firms. Edited my above post for clarity. No need to lodge anonymous insults.

OP here. If it helps at all, the firm is NLJ 250 but not v100, major market. I just assumed that I would at least hear something back regarding my email at this point, especially given my reviews. I was flat out told that they wished they hired me for the entire summer and they started referencing practice groups I could work with next summer. I'm hoping they simply haven't made me my offer yet, but you never know.
