My cousin is an academic and to be fair, he probably would not be able to function outside of an academic setting

Most of mine have been poors or pseudo-poors trying to extort the rich. I admit my lens may be biased.

I don't know. Every acquisition or reorganization I've worked on people get fired or their retirements get fuck ed up. Generally not management, who end up as consultants if not retained.
I tried to convince one Japanese client not to fire people on Christmas Eve.
