Should you?

I managed to pick up screeners at a couple of the biggest TX firms in both Dallas and Houston. I am from Louisiana, and would genuinely love to work in either.

Should I call the firms to cancel one of them each? Or is it reasonable to interview in both locations, and believable that you would be happy in both locations? Or would this hurt more than it could help?

Completely reasonable for someone at say UT to interview for both locations and the firm will let you know where they would like you (although you can always negotiate from there because it isn't uncommon for people to switch offices). The only way you could get into trouble with this would be if your ties were maybe a little shaky and you didn't seem like you knew the difference between the two cities. Just be sure you're comfortable saying why you would like each and you'll be more than fine.

I've noticed quite a few splits at my (Big 3) firm this summer between two offices. Some are doing both Houston and Dallas. I don't think interviewing with both is an issue at all.
