I got an interview from SFIPLA for a firm for their NY office, but also got a "firmwide" interview for the same firm at PLIP.
Another firm at SFIPLA for Chicago but same firm at PLIP for DC

Should I cancel the overlapping PLIP interviews? the cancellation period for SFIPLA is over.

Some additional Info: I have strong ties to DC and weaker ties to Chicago. No ties to NYC. I'd rather work in Chicago than any other city but not opposed to DC.
I can provide the firm name via pm if that would give you a better idea of what to suggest (since I'm assuming some offices are better known for certain IP work than others).

Here is what I think you should do:

Email (or call) recruiting. Tell them you'd love to work in their Chicago office and are excited to have the chance to meet with them. Tell them what the interview situation is, and ask them how they'd best like you to proceed. I think they'll probably tell you to come to PLIP and will unofficially cancel the NY office interview to get you in front of a Chicago based interviewer.

If you didn't have an IP background my advice would probably be different.

Yeah I meant tech background/are hireable for IP. If you were less employable I would say go on all the interviews you can get, but since you have an edge I would go all in on Chicago, and take this opportunity to try to endear yourself to recruiting.
