Whoa. This is big. Time to swap Weil and Cleary on my bid list. And it's good to see Sidley fighting back. They've been hit hard in recent years, but we all know they deserve a place in the V15.

Also, look at Cooley jumping from 55 to 45. I dismissed Cooley as TTT, but I now see I was wrong to do so. I'm adding them to my bid list. At this rate, they'll be V20 in five years. Buy low and sell high, I always say.

I hope you are not really making employment decisions based on the Vault ranking.

Vault=prestige=exit options=winning. Ignore this formula at your peril.

The only potentially interesting/amusing thing that could come out of the vault rankings in the next few years would be if CSM retook #1 from Wachtell. Seems like they were very, very close this year.

Not sure if serious, but for 1Ls who don't know better, it's much, much better to use Chambers' rankings by practice area. If you want to do distressed dealmaking, then Weil and K&E and maybe Skadden are waaaaay better than Cravath.

Vault is a better gauge of brand recognition than anything else.

Good catch, jbagelboy. Although most of the Vault rankings are meaningless, the race for #1 is indeed interesting. If Wachtell falls to #2, maybe they'll finally do OCI at UVA.

Ugh, I had just finished my bidlist, and how I have to completely change it in light of the new rankings

I would be more concerned about things like Weil's still-recent layoffs and their incessant attempts to lie about it.

Not even. Place isn't even a V3. Best to avoid that sinking ship...

Skadden NYC has a full gym in the office. S&C does not.

Skadden retakes #3. S&C drops back to #4.

Coincidence? I think not.

Pretty surprised Weil didn't take a bigger dip in the rankings.
