They're coming to my school's OCI and IRS website says that it can lead to post-grad employment. Does anyone know if that's a realistic possibility (or even an SA-style guarantee) or just something they say?

Yes I think most of their SAs get offers post grad. I got an offer into the honors program as a 3L and thought long and hard about it before turning it down. The Summer program feeds into the honors program, which requires a 3 year commitment. Make sure you're ok with that before doing summer program. Also consider what division you will work in. Small business/self employed doesn't translate well to big firms, but LBI probably does. Just some things to think about. Good luck!

Thanks so much, exactly what I was looking for.

How do you work in the summer as a 3L for the IRS? Isn't that when you have to study for the bar?

Honors programs hire you during fall of 3L for a permanent position after graduation. From the context I think the anon means that s/he worked for them one summer (1L or 2L) and then applied for the honors program during 3L and got a permanent offer for post-grad work.
