Median at T6 - drop in grade second semester

I was around top 25% last semester. Now I'm at around median (possibly slightly less) though I'm not sure what median is. My GPA is a 3.3
Now I'm worried. Median itself may be okay but now I have to explain my drop. I did have personal issues but it's all excuses I guess.
Am I out of V15 or V20? My interviewing skills are decent but not extraordinary.
I also want to target LA but I know it's more difficult. What firms are out and what should my LA/NY ratio be?
Note: I REALLY want LA but I'm terrified of striking out since I'm paying sticker

Why not just say your school? Clearly you are not at Chicago. Doesn't your school have a GPA callback report, or something similar, that you could look at?
LA is tougher than NY. Start mass mailing.

NYU.
I'm not sure what median is. I hear 3.2-3.33 so I can be either above or below
When do I mass mail? I was going to start in July. Isn't it too early now?

NYUs median is between 3.27 and 3.3

This same thing happened to me. But I ended up above median and still struck out at OCI. I managed to get an offer at an NYC firm later in the fall. My problem was the grade drop plus being mediocre in interviews. I really regretted not mass mailing starting in July so I would suggest mass mail this summer and also make sure you are very good at interviewing - not just pleasant/normal but engaging. Do as many practice interviews as you can and get into career services for a mock interview or two before you're not getting enough callbacks. Everyone likes to rag on career services but I found them pretty helpful last fall. Good luck!
