Externship and PT job offers for stuff you'll start after OCI.

Jobs at small firms, externships w federal agencies, externships with PI orgs. These are things that will help set you apart from your GPA peers.

The SEC deadline for Fall internships appears to have closed 3 days ago, but get out there and see what you can land.

Interested in bankruptcy? I hate to encourage anyone to try to do BK since filings are down, but try for bankruptcy judges and also UST offices. UST tends not to post jobs so you'll have to call someone for the app process, but it would be good experience.

Additionally, they allowed me to start in February for 5-10 hours a week; my grades went up significantly while working for them.

Would I be better off finding a different fall position (likely unpaid), or keeping my current position. Also, will my winter/spring employment be of any benefit to me?

Worse idea ever.

No. I would accept the offer to keep working, for the money, and for being able to show you were a valuable summer to the firm.

This is terrific advice, imho. During OCI I was definitely asked about/had the opportunity to discuss plans I had for the upcoming semester (in my case, it was a clinic.) At the time, I just saw it as a chance to talk about something in the future that I was excited about trying but in retrospect, it probably did set me (and the rest of us with after-OCI-stuff) apart.
