In a cover letter, how do I mention that I'll be a research assistant this summer? Like, do I mention the name of the prof?

I'm interested in this too. I'm drafting my cover letters right now - and don't know what the hell to put for a job I've had for two weeks.

"This summer, I will be working as an assistant to Professor Boomer McOutoftouch. I will be researching issues related X, Y, and Z, as well as assisting Professor Boomer with writing a scholarly article on the topic that no one will read."
