No, I think I'm a great associate.

Also, thread title is ambiguous.

Being a firm associate and being a good associate at a firm are probably actually mutually exclusive

I better edit

In terms of the economics of it, how much work do you really need to do to make your firm money. I figure most associates are good associates even if they aren't working as hard/quickly as the firm would like.

This is not the question. I have certainly made my firm back everything they've paid me, including insurances, stipends, etc. I mean that the part where partners would say "yup, good associate."

I think I'm "ok" and maybe even "good for being very junior." Definitely not "good" by any objective, unqualified standard.

Only a bad associate would consider this a simple question.
