What are things to keep in mind when having an office mate during the SA program and common do's/don'ts?

When eating at your desk, order strong smelling foods like egg salad or pad thai so your office-mate can share and enjoy with you

Even better, get a mini fridge and keep home made kimchi in it. Make sure to label the jar with "for (your name) only"

If you want to play it tight and safe:
Keep your shit obviously within your space. Try to keep your space clean and orderly (some people get annoyed by disorganized surroundings even if it's not their own). Don't habitually do anything that might be annoying, such as shaking your leg, clicking your pen, or chewing gum. Don't surf the web or look at anything inappropriate on your computer. Try to avoid eating at your desk (in general, avoid having anything with a noticeable odor; be aware if you're someone with abominable breath). Mind your own business (don't get caught looking at what they're looking at or things of the sort). Avoid having conversations in your office. Aside from greetings, don't speak to your office mate unless it is clearly invited. Basically, as much as possible, allow your office mate to imagine that you don't exist.
But you could probably violate any number of those suggestions and still be fine.
