Does anybody know how long the DOJ clearance is? I have a clean record with no criminal history except some credit issues because I was out of work for a while before coming to law school.
How long does it usually take and can credit issues really get you denial in your offer?

For a summer gig, it doesn't take as long as for a real job. I think mine took about 6-8 weeks? It probably depends (as much on how many they have to do as anything else).
Bad credit (as in a low credit score) won't be a problem. Defaulting on student loans and failing to pay taxes are the 2 financial issues that I know are deal breakers. Bad credit, as in you currently aren't paying and your creditors are hounding you and repo-info stuff or garnishing your wages probably doesn't look good. But you'll likely be fine.
