Curious as to whether people put this on their resume if you didn't win (or get runner up).

At my school it is an optional competition for the whole school against each other. 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls can do it, but no one is required to. I did it as a 1L and it took a decent amount of time and was a good experience, but I didn't win or anything. We do get a mark on our transcript that we competed however.

Would you put this on your resume as one of your LS activities? Seems like it might be kinda weird to list something when you were a loser. How would you even it on there if you can't put Winner or Runner Up?

People put moot court on their resumes all the time and the vast majority of people who compete in moot courts don't make the finals.

Yes. Put it on there. If they ask how you did, "I didn't finish in the finals, but I placed well."
