In House M&A Opportunity Question...

I'm a 4th-6th year M&A associate at a top regional firm and I have a lead on an opportunity to go in house at a client with their corporate development team. This isn't strictly a legal role and I'll basically be helping the company evaluate mergers/acquisitions/divestitures as well as certain other strategic business opportunities.

Any idea on what to expect from a compensation/lifestyle standpoint? I'm planning on asking them these questions in person when I actually meet them, but I was just wondering if anyone here had been in a role similar to this before. It seems like most of the group is made up for former bankers and MBA-level hires.

Lifestyle tends to be relaxed, but picks up when there are major deals in the pipeline. Salary tends to start, depending on the company size, experience etc, from $95-110k. That being said, idk where they would put you given your experience, maybe more in the 130k+, but who knows. I worked on the M&A IB side and will likely make the shift back to M&A after a few years of legal work.

Thanks for the response. My official title of the position is "senior manager"

From what I can gather, progression seems to be Analyst (Pre MBA) -> Associate (Post MBA) -> Manager -> Director -> VP/Head of Group

Any idea on whether bonuses are a major factor?

I would be interested to hear what it ended up being (pay wise) and if you took it?
