I'll be doing patent prosecution work this summer as a SA. Considering it's been several years since I looked at anything scientific in nature, is it worth cracking open my old science textbooks and skimming through them?

Probably not. You'll just end up looking up what you need to know on Wikipedia when you need it. Unless you already know some specific area that you're working in.

No, it would probably be wasted time. One of the partners I worked for loaned me a copy of "Fundamentals of Patent Prosecution 2013: A Boot Camp for Claim Drafting & Amendment Writing." I barely cracked it open as I spent all summer doing litigation stuff.
