So I applied for a summer internship, and supposedly the company is in the process of conducting interviews for the next few weeks. I noticed this morning that the employer viewed my LinkedIn page, but I haven't received any email offer yet. Should I assume I haven't gotten the gig?

No friend. It's been less than 24 hours since this employer visited your page. Probably just snooping around. Don't read tea leaves.

After a callback I had an employer not only view my Linkedin profile, but also "friend" me. A few days later I received my ding.

The place I'll be at this summer looked at my LinkedIn profile after my callback. You really can't read into it at all.

Haha. That's pretty fucked up.

The firm I will be working at never looked at me and I had to search out people I worked with over the summer to add.

So as you can see, it's all over the map.

Seems weird for potential employers to be looking at your social media profiles. Could be finding out info they aren't supposed to know.

I put both links to Facebook and LinkedIn on my resume. There are multiple people on the internet with same first/last name and some a pretty weird so I don't want them to look and be turned-off.

Why have a LinkedIn profile if not for potential employers to be looking at it? Potential employment is the only reason I put up with all the LinkedIn spam.

ETA: And god help you if you put info that employers aren't supposed to know on your LinkedIn profile.
