Hi folks. I was accepted into an LL.M (tax) program and will have to move if I accept. Is it a bad idea to offer to clerk for free part time while working on the LL.M at a firm on tax matters during the LL.M program? I ask because I will not be able to intern before the semester starts as I'll be studying for the bar. Would a reputable firm even consider such an arrangement? Obviously the end goal would be to get an offer upon graduation.

It would be illegal and no reputable firm would allow you to work without pay.

Any alternatives?
