I use the hell out of Evernote, and TimeSolver has a mobile app that's worthwhile. Are you corporate or lit?

Evernote is a note-taking app that syncs with the online app. The mobile app lets me take pictures of things that get synced with certain notes, and when I am researching stuff, I can click one button and copy a link to a note, so I can save the link in the appropriate place without having to go back and forth between programs. It's helpful for keeping track of things. I also use it as my to-do list.

If you are in lit, your state bar likely has a good app that provides the Rules on your phone, and there are some great apps that you tell it the state and the type of document filed, and it will automatically populate your calendar with reminders for filing deadlines - check out CourtDays Pro.

Also check out:

Documents to Go: MS Word emulator for iOS.

CloudOn - free alternative to Document to Go.

Goodreader - for PDF's.

PDF Pen - for editing and annotating PDFs on an iPad.

Transcript Pad - for reading depositions on an iPad. It's amazing. Let's you flag portions, highlight, add tags, makes the depo searchable.

Tempo SmartCalendar - best calendar alternative. Works best if you have multiple meetings, conference calls, etc. Scans your email and phone so everything relating to a meeting is contained within the calendar, like the location, directions, other people, conference dial-in codes.

Lawstack - omes preloaded with the US Constitution, the Federal Rules of Civil & Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and Bankruptcy. State codes can be purchased individually.

In Texas, Texas Courts:

Fed Courthouse map, state and fed procedure rules, fed local rules, pacer link, and state bar attorney search. Mostly it's just PDFs and external links, but still useful. (And free).

Same co apparently makes:

Federal Courts
California Courts
Connecticut Courts
Florida Courts
Illinois Courts
Massachusetts Courts
Michigan Courts
New York Courts
DC Courts
