I don't think it's quite as simple as being able / willing to move.TLSUSER22 wrote:Its allright, I have moved around the world. Moving in-between a few states is not as difficult as you think.
Your opinion is wrong because DC is debatably the most competitive market in the country.TLSUSER22 wrote:For sure for sure. Of course I agree with you most of you, but not to the extreme that most in these discussion forums suggest.
People sometimes look at placement statistics and will assume that it is difficult for a student at a given university to go to, lets say, Boston because the university places 80% in for example, Texas.
I think, just because a university seems to place a large part of its student body in a certain area does not mean things are as rigid as people suggest.
In this example, its not like everyone is trying to go Boston, most are happy with Texas, thats why the placement numbers differ so greatly. Especially with jobs in the Federal Government.
How can the government be representative if every attorney is from the Northeast Area. I hope this explains my opinion a bit better.
Nope. Let me tell you something though. DC is everybody's (JD wise)type....TLSUSER22 wrote:For sure for sure. Of course I agree with you most of you, but not to the extreme that most in these discussion forums suggest.

Pick whichever of these interests you most, OP, but know going in that a 1L internship isn't going to make you competitive for a fedgov job by itself.scotth724 wrote: Your opinion is wrong because DC isdebatablythe most competitive market in the country.
