Top Law Schools

I did very well in my torts class and my torts professor talked to me about a 30 person law firm which does personal injury and insurance work which contacted him about wanting to interview 1Ls for the summer. He wanted to know if I was interested before he got back to them and I said I was. I attend a T1 regional school and if I repeat my grades in the spring I should have a decent shot at a big firm job which is what I want, preferably doing transactional work. An interview is not even set up yet so I might be getting ahead of myself but I just wanted to ask if I did end up at this law firm and then later told firms that I want to do transactional work will that look weird or count against me that my 1L summer was in a completely different area of law?
