Hey! My firm (Quinn) said that we are going to hear about start dates in January. I still haven't heard anything, but I'm getting pretty antsy. So, has anyone heard yet? Is it too early to be asking that?

Start date was included in the offer. Right after the bar. Expecting bar results late third quarter.

Cleary let us pick one of 2 start dates. Not sure which I'll get. Should be hearing from them soonish.

hmm, i got my start date but i was told to keep quiet about it so as not to spoil the surprise for those getting shadow no-offered.

Have you received your written offer? Everyone I know was sent his or her offer by late September (followed by the new associate party). I figured by now all outcomes from summer would have been confirmed.

Going to BigFed. They let us pick our start date. Gonna start a few weeks after the bar.

sounds like a troll. from what i know they've been doing really well lately and were hiring 3Ls at one point. if it were for real there would be a ton of corroborating freakout posts and it'd be on ATL already.

It sounds like he is saying they will be told, in April, what their start date will be, not that they will start next April.

right, or this explanation. this crossed my mind first but for some reason i forgot it before i replied to the thread. didn't mean to disparage this anon.

but hey, at least you know when. i am at an NY V100 and still have radio silence on everything (bar courses, advance, start date, practice groups, etc.)

I was the STB anon. Indeed, announcement will be made in April and dates are likely to be in Sept/Oct. sorry for any confusion. Never doubt TLS's ability to get its panties in a bunch.

I thought I had a start date to suggest here, but realized that the person I know is actually going to S&C rather than Cravath.

Do Cravath associates get a choice with respect to first year start dates?

I know they are pretty flexible w/r/t start-end dates for summer associates.

Every firm is different. I got mine in my offer letter.

Do most NYC BigLaw firms reimburse the $250 bar fee, or just cover the bar courses? "Ask recruiting," I know. But they've mentioned courses and not that, so I'm guessing the answer is no and am coming to TLS to avoid that awkward interaction.
