Do firms care if you don't get published on journal?

2L with Biglaw offer for the summer. Just had a falling out with my EIC, who said my note might not get published. It's a secondary journal and I'm interested in corporate law, but nevertheless do firms ever ask/care about that stuff?

Any and all comments would be appreciated.

Pretty sure every SA without a published note has gotten no-offered/cold offered

You won't get no offered but you can kiss your partnership chances goodbye. Go look on any firm site. The firm bios heavily highlight publications.

This is true at every firm I'm familiar with.

Not sure if this is a joke? Published work is a plus, but never EXPECTED.

Considering op has already responded positively to the jokes by (surprise) treating them as jokes, I don't think there's any need for you to act indignant on his/her behalf.

But bmv doesn't have his OCI surveys! Now he's never going to now if the top 10%er at the T32 got offers at his V7 and V9 callbacks
