anyone get cbs/offers in October?

I accepted an offer than came through about a week ago. Received a CB earlier this week from a firm I had mailed two weeks ago.

Seen a few 2Ls get callbacks, but not many.

Was the firm by any chance Alston or Dechert? Also, how long after callback did you receive offer?

Got a T30 CB offer --> CB --> rejection all within a week in the beginning of the month. NYC.

It seems like a few biglaw firms are filling in those last few spots in their SA classes?..

how long should i wait before i assume it's no?

I had a couple callbacks last week in major markets biglaw (V30). I got an offer yesterday and another one earlier in October. A lot of people around here who don't know what they're talking about keep intimating that it's done but not quite. That being said odds are getting exponentially dimmer. It may be that you still need to be a good candidate to get these late in the game looks, however. I think I had a lot of success late in the game b/c I had good grades at a T14 but just did terrible in OCI interviews.

Ask them/follow up. It's the only way to find out.

Any tips on post-callback follow ups? I've been waiting 4 weeks and it's killing me.

There's no art to it really as far as I'm concerned. I just would write an email to the recruiting contact and say something like

Hi,

I am writing to follow up on my interview with your firm on X Date. I believe when we last spoke you informed me that I would hear within X days. I just wanted to see if there was a new timeline for hearing back.

I got an offer shortly after one of those but I don't think the follow up really had anything to do with that. If you didn't get a timeframe then just ask for one. Good luck.

I've gotten callbacks in the last week, to take place in the next week. One from a major BigLaw firm in NYC.

I'm still mailing, but this shows that there is some movement.

Hopefully I will be posting about getting an offer soon! *knock on wood*

Received a CB from a V15 just yesterday. Declined/had already accepted elsewhere. Massmail.

They told me to expect to hear one way or the other by November 1st (give or take a few days). This is going to be a fun 2 weeks.

I received interviews from mass mailing. I'm continuing until I have an offer (preferably that I love). Also looking on Symplicity and networking still, of course.

After a post-screener invitation-only meal (all back in mid-August), I was still awaiting word as to whether I was dinged or going to get a CB from Norton Rose, until earlier this week. (As one might guess after all this time, I did not get a CB).
