Anyone out there applied for either of these? It may be a while for the Skadden one, but has anyone heard anything from EJW?

I'm in for both. Haven't heard anything from EJW. But I wouldn't be surprised if folks heard back from Skadden sooner - I think SBP usually makes calls to the first round of finalists about a week after the application deadline.

Someone at our school got the call from Skadden tonight (for an interview), not sure if they have called everyone already but thought I'd give you all a heads up.

Does anyone else who did NOT get a call want to commiserate?

does SBP normally finish them up all in one day? if so, I'm available for commiseration.

I was told that all the calls were going out last night. FML.

my career counselor sent me the "sorry to hear..." e-mail today, so the vigil can finally end. must have been a crazy year for applications, and it looks like the mythical GPA-cutoff isn't so mythical. I've got almost 10 years public interest experience, 2 summers at big name legal aid organizations, a kickass sponsor with huge skadden connections and what everyone told me was a great project (including SBP), but median GPA at a t10. f that.

I started putting together my SBP halloween costume today.

good luck at EJW conference and late clerkships! sickly relieving to know I don't have to do the rest of the skadden process, although cocktail hours would have been nice.

My situation is remarkably similar. Sucks.

OP here. Sorry to those who didn't get an interview with Skadden. My career services people told me that they can be somewhat snobby about the applicant's pedigree and project. Did you also submit your app to EJW?

Anyone hear anything from EJW yet?

I interviewed with Skadden and am now waiting to see if I made the cut. No word from EJW at all.

No word from EJW yet here either. I also interviewed with Skadden but have yet to hear. They told me I'd get a letter if I didn't advance, but I wouldn't hear anything if I did. Is that what others were told? Seems kind of odd

From what I understood, the advisory committee is meeting this week and SBP will send out letters shortly afterwards to those who are not selected as finalists. I would guess that those letters would arrive by the end of next week, if not earlier. If you don't hear anything, it's because you're a finalist - then it's just a matter of hoping for the phone call on December 6th, the day after the board meeting in December.

EJW: Greenberg Traurig interviewed about 20 candidates this week. Not clear how many fellows they'll sponsor, but they're usually a big player. Otherwise, no word from EJW.
Skadden: Skadden interviewed 103 candidates and about half will make it to the finals. They finished up interviews today.

Hope that helps!

Thanks! That does help. I knew I probably misunderstood something at the interview. I thought we were going to get a call if we made it and a letter if we didn't.

I got the same information at my interview. At this point, no news is good news. Good luck to everyone!

Got a rejection letter from Skadden on Saturday & I'm in the NY area, so if you don't hear by the end of this week, I think you're probably a finalist. Good luck to all!

Anyone else hear from EJW yet? Still radio silence over here but I know their process is long

I haven't heard back from EJW but another applicant from my school received an offer already.

Hmm, thanks! Do you know if that person got an offer from Greenberg Traurig, or if other firms have started interviewing?

Yes - I believe this person's sponsors are Greenberg Traurig and our state bar foundation.

Anyone have any sense of whether it's just radio silence for EJW through the holidays now? I can't imagine too many firms are going to be doing much, but it'd be great to know if in the past there were interviews/offers this time of year.
