Top Law Schools

Hey all--I'm considering taking a position in a small office (like 20-40 attys) of a large national firm. It's in Silicon Valley (which is where I want to practice) over a larger, much more established NYC office. My question is: does anyone have any insight into how this may affect my career. Is it something I should be wary of? Would it be better to work in NYC for a few years and try to lateral later, or is that like planning to transfer law schools?

20 is smallish, but 40 is actually a pretty decent sized office by SF/SV standards. If it's a good firm, you'll be fine.

My big law firm is also in the 40-attorney range in SV. Unless you're at Cooley, Fenwick, Wilson Sonsini, etc., they're pretty much all small by East Coast standards. If you get interesting work, I think you'll be fine.
